I will stamp all over 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's boxing match.

Former twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
