'People are intimidated' - the reasons 'unstoppable force' Arsenal are the side to defeat.

The evidence is unmistakable why Arsenal are now countless pundits' top picks to claim the Premier League in the current campaign.

Look at their performances against Newcastle and Crystal Palace versus those same matches in the previous campaign.

The Gunners have defeated all of them during this campaign, but lost 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race last season.

Impenetrable Defense

Arsenal's backline resilience is a key reason why they are looking well positioned to at last realize their title goal.

They lead the league for clean sheets (6), shots let in (3), shots faced (72), quality opportunities against (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the best in the league, with Arsenal recording a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Superiority

Their danger from dead balls is well known, but rival sides still don't know how to neutralize the Gunners from these chances.

They have notched 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a intimidation presence. People are just fearful of them and it is excellent to see."

Title Potential

What is particularly remarkable about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United on the road and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their long-standing opponents aren't faring so well. This marks the first time at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on manager Mikel Arteta at the start, having invested around £250m on eight summer signings in search of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far paid off in remarkable manner, with his side second top scorers in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Clean sheets in three straight Premier League games
  • Over six hours without allowing a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and analysts have characterized Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now performing with confidence and purpose.
