Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing.
The second-hand shopping app has updated its size classifications for women's and children's garments but did not contact all users about the change.
Social Media Backlash
Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.
The company said the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.
It has advised users to check their listings and update the measurements by hand if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.
Sizing System Updates
Previously, the measurements included one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.
User Accounts
One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she stated.
Necessary Adjustments
Another shopper, from Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item".
"This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she explained.
Platform Context
The app has more than 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users.
It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: last year, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
